Frequently asked questions

What is jagua?

Jagua Tattoo is a temporary form of skin decoration resulting from the application of an extract of the fruit Genipa americana, also known as Jagua fruit. Native tribes in the Amazon traditionally use the juice of the jagua fruit for body ornamentation.

Is Jagua Safe?

Jagua is made from the jagua fruit. It is organic and safe to use on all ages.            We recommend to avoid using jagua if you are allergic to fruits.

Do you have Jagua in other colors?

We only offer jagua currently in it's original color, but have a 'Hengua' (Henna & Jagua) mix with a nuance of shades to choose from coming soon. Inquire for availability.

*All staining products are made in house, making it the freshest products on island!

What design can I pick?

We have a constantly growing wide variety of designs to choose from, and also work with custom designs!

How do i take care of my jagua tattoo?

Muse Face and Body Art has aftercare sheets given out after each tattoo, but can also be found at our 'aftercare' page on the navigation bar.

Does it hurt when applied?

We utilize fine tip metal applicators which resemble a needle, but we do not penetrate the skin. There is absolutely no pain involved.

Where on my body am I able to get my tattoo?

Anywhere! There is almost no limit to where you can have your tattoo applied, jagua tends to last longer in areas without constant perspiration or sweat. Below is a video example of a few of our works with different places to reference.

My tattoo is fading, am I able to get it touched up?

Absolutely! We have several clients who love their ink so much they come back to retouch it, we only ask that you try to schedule it before its completely faded so we can use the same outline and consistency.

Below is a video example of our touch-up service.
